Waterproofing a Tent

To ensure that a tent lasts for many years and many seasons, it needs to be well cared for and well waterproofed. When purchased new, the tent will come with waterproofing from the manufacturer. This is sufficient for some time, but will not last for more than one season. Each year, it is a good idea to properly clean and waterproof any tent.

When cleaning a tent, there are often detergents that can be used where the tent is put directly into a washing machine. After being washed, the tent should be set up so that it can completely dry. Once dry, the waterproofing should be applied to the outside of the tent. Once the waterproofing itself is dry, all of the seams should be inspected and resealed. This should be allowed to dry for several hours more, and then the tent can be properly stored. If the seams of the tent are somewhat sticky, the use of baby powder sprinkled lightly on the seams will ensure that they do not stick together after they are stored.

With some simple maintenance and care, tents can last for many years and many seasons to come. It is just a matter of properly waterproofing and storing the tent.

The styles for fall and winter have their thigh high boots, scarves, gloves and leather jackets but summer style certainly offer more possibilities. Maybe you want to spend your lunch break at the beach so you put on your swim suit underneath your pantsuit.
